Meridith L. Hall, D.D.S.
Dr. Meridith Hall was born and raised in the Ann Arbor area, graduating from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1993. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Detroit Mercy, graduating at the top of her class. She believes in staying on the cutting edge of technology, and has continued her education with extensive training in all areas of dentistry, including Tulsa GT Rotary Advanced Endodontics, Straumann and Nobel Biocare Implant training, and certification in both Lumineers and Invisalign. Her advanced cosmetic training is extensive, and she was selected to attend Ultradent’s Esthetic Elite Cosmetic Symposium as the Michigan representative for both 2006 and 2008. She has been selected as one of “America’s Top Dentists” and is listed in the Cambridge Who’s Who for dentistry.
Dr. Hall has extensive hospital training, treating complex reconstructive cases at both Receiving and Sinai hospitals in Detroit. She loves children and has volunteered her time at Mott’s Children’s Hospital, and for homeless shelters and nursing homes throughout the area.
Her professional philosophy is to provide the highest quality care in a relaxed and pain-free environment. In her spare time, she loves to exercise, travel and spend time with her children and family.
John Hoitenga, D.D.S.
Dr. John Hoitenga has spent most of his professional career practicing in the communities he loves, splitting his time between his dental practice in Alpena and here at Progressive Dental. He especially loves to share his passion for dental education by teaching part time at the University of Michigan, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. He has been honored as a host at the Michigan Dental Association Annual Session, and has lectured at many study groups across the state. He is currently the chairman of the Dental Peer Review Committee for the Michigan Dental Association, and maintains a dual licensure in both Michigan and Illinois.
Dr. John has accumulated hundreds of hours of continuing education, having a special interest in Endodontics and complex prosthetic cases.
Patients of Dr. Hoitenga describe him as incredibly gentle, professional and educated, but always putting their comfort as his utmost concern. His patients appreciate the friendly and relaxed environment he maintains. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Hoitenga enjoys water sports, spending time with friends and family.practice of dentistry for over 27 years. He continually devotes his time to the pursuit of excellence in the ever-changing field of dentistry, which has involved his attendance in some of the top continuing education programs in the country. Since receiving his first certificate in implantology from the University of Michigan in 1990, he has continued his specialized training in cosmetics, prosthetic reconstruction, and occlusal rehabilitation from some of the premier educators in dentistry. Dr. Smith is a member of many professional institutions, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Francis B. Vedder Crown and Bridge Prosthodontics Society. Dr Smith, Ms Smith and their two children are very active in many facets of the community. His son is studying engineering at the University of Michigan, and his daughter is a high school senior and accomplished musician. He enjoys water and snow sports, outside living and playing percussion.
